Last updated: June 26, 2026. How we use AI for search, recommendations, image processing, and virtual try-on.
Our AI engine powers search, product recommendations, and personalisation across our entire catalogue.
All AI camera analysis happens in your browser. No camera data is sent to our servers.
AI results are estimates. We cannot guarantee perfect search results, color accuracy, or size fitting.
Trevia Shopping is an AI-first platform. We use multiple artificial intelligence and machine learning systems to deliver a personalised, innovative shopping experience. This policy explains how each AI system works, what data it uses, and its limitations. We are committed to using AI responsibly and transparently.
Our recommendation engine uses machine learning to suggest products based on your search history, clicked products, Virtual Try-On interactions, and anonymised aggregate trends. Affiliate commission rates do not influence recommendations. Sponsored products, if any, are clearly labelled.
Our AI search engine interprets natural language queries and matches them against our affiliate product catalogue. It supports semantic search (intent-based), visual search (image upload), and conversational search. Queries are retained in anonymised form only for model improvement — never shared with third parties.
When you upload an image for Virtual Try-On, AI-powered background removal and face/body landmark detection run locally in your browser using WebAssembly (WASM) models (@imgly/background-removal and MediaPipe). Your uploaded image is never transmitted to our servers. The processed image exists only in browser memory during your active session. No images are stored or used for identity verification.
Live camera try-on is optional. When activated, AI models (MediaPipe Face Mesh, Hand Tracking, Pose Detection) run entirely in your browser in real-time. Face/hand landmark coordinates are used only to position product overlays — no video frames or data are transmitted to our servers. Camera access stops immediately when you leave the session or revoke permission. You can deny camera permission and still use uploaded photo try-on.
Camera and image processing are entirely client-side — no biometric data is sent to our servers. Search queries are anonymised before any use in model training. No AI system on our platform is used for identity verification, facial recognition, or surveillance. For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Virtual Try-On Policy.
