We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels to support assistive technologies like NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.

Our platform is designed to be fully navigable using keyboard controls without requiring a mouse.

1. Our Commitment

Trevia Shopping is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our accessibility standard.

We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing journey, not a one-time fix. We continuously audit and improve our platform's accessibility as we develop new features.

2. Screen Readers

We work towards compatibility with popular screen reader software by implementing:

  • Semantic HTML:Proper use of heading hierarchy (h1–h6), landmark elements (<nav>, <main>, <footer>), and list structures.
  • ARIA Labels: Descriptive aria-label, aria-describedby, and aria-live attributes on interactive elements and dynamic content updates.
  • Alternative Text: Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes.
  • Form Labels: All form inputs are associated with descriptive labels.
  • Focus Management: Modal dialogs and dynamic panels manage focus appropriately when opened and closed.

Our platform has been tested with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS).

3. Keyboard Navigation

Trevia Shopping supports keyboard-only navigation throughout the platform:

  • Tab / Shift+Tab: Navigate forward and backward through interactive elements.
  • Enter / Space: Activate buttons, links, and form controls.
  • Escape: Close modals, dropdowns, and overlays.
  • Arrow Keys: Navigate within carousels, dropdown menus, and tab panels.
  • Visible Focus Indicators: All focusable elements display a visible focus ring to aid keyboard navigation.

Note: The Virtual Try-On camera feature requires mouse or touch interaction and may have limited keyboard-only controls. We are working to improve this.

4. Mobile Accessibility

Our platform is designed to be fully functional and accessible on mobile devices:

  • Responsive Design: All pages adapt to screen sizes from 320px (small phones) to large desktop monitors.
  • Touch Targets: Interactive elements meet a minimum touch target size of 44x44 CSS pixels.
  • Text Scaling: Text remains readable when users increase their system font size to 200%.
  • iOS VoiceOver & Android TalkBack: We test core flows with mobile screen readers.
  • Pinch-to-Zoom: The page does not disable user scaling via the viewport meta tag, allowing users to zoom in.

5. Known Limitations

We are transparent about areas where our accessibility is still being improved:

  • Virtual Try-On (Camera Mode): The live AR try-on canvas is a visual experience that cannot currently be described by screen readers. We are exploring audio cues and alternative text descriptions for try-on results.
  • 3D Product Overlays: Complex 3D overlay rendering may not be accessible to users who cannot see the canvas.
  • Third-Party Content: Affiliate merchant sites linked from our platform are not under our control and may have varying accessibility standards.
